WHEN YOUR USUAL BO CHANGES

Consider the washing step before another deodorant upgrade

We are not on Amazon or eBay. Watch out for fakes.

Will this help if I already shower every day?

Daily washing and a changed body odor can happen together. Sutter adds Japanese persimmon and green tea to your rinse-off cleansing step, so you can reconsider the wash instead of only upgrading deodorant

Can I keep using my usual deodorant?

Yes. Use Sutter in your shower, rinse thoroughly and let your skin dry before applying your usual deodorant or antiperspirant. The wash and the product you apply afterward have different jobs

Is this a subscription?

No. Every order is a one-time purchase. You pay once at checkout, and you are never billed again unless you place a new order yourself.

Your usual BO changed Your wash can change too

You shower daily and put on clean clothes, yet your familiar BO has turned sharp and onion-like. Maybe your left armpit is worse. Maybe your husband noticed the change before you found the words for it

Hormonal changes during perimenopause and menopause can affect sweating and body odor. On your skin, bacteria use substances in sweat and release odor compounds. Being clean and forming odor can happen at the same time

That gives you a reason to reconsider the whole routine, including what you wash with before deodorant

Does this sound familiar?

  • One armpit smells stronger than the other
  • Onion-like odor breaks through stronger deodorants
  • Clean shirts pick up a smell you do not recognize
  • You wonder whether other people can smell it too

A DIFFERENT WASHING STEP

Wash away the residue odor feeds on

Lather, lift away oily residue and rinse clean. Japanese persimmon and green tea complete the deodorizing formula. Keep your normal shower and use your usual deodorant afterward

  • Soap lifts away oily residue
  • Kaki persimmon supports odor care
  • Green tea complements the formula
  • A simple wash before your usual deodorant

Cosmetic cleansing and odor care, not a hormone treatment. Individual results vary

Antibacterial soap, deodorant and glycolic acid compared with Sweat Deodorizing Soap

Antibacterial Soap + Deodorant + Glycolic Acid

Generic antibacterial soap box and bar

Antibacterial soap

Cleanses skin and acts on bacteria. Some washes can leave sensitive skin feeling dry or irritated

Generic deodorant stick and spray

Deodorant

Helps control odor after washing. Antiperspirant reduces sweat, but neither replaces the rinse-off step

Generic glycolic acid bottle

Glycolic acid

Some women find it helpful for underarm odor. It is a separate skincare step rather than the wash itself

  • Rinse-off cleansing Soap does this
  • Japanese persimmon + green tea Varies by product
  • Works with your deodorant Depends on the routine
  • Extra glycolic-acid step An additional product
  • How you use it Several separate steps

Sweat Deodorizing Soap

Sweat Deodorizing Soap product comparison
  • Rinse-off cleansing Built into the bar
  • Japanese persimmon + green tea Included in the formula
  • Works with your deodorant Use after washing
  • Extra glycolic-acid step Not needed to use Sutter
  • How you use it Lather and rinse

Different products do different jobs. This compares routine steps and formula features, not measured effectiveness

Kaki Persimmon Extract

Vitamin E

Vitamin E rounds out the botanical formula.

  • Listed on the carton as tocopherol
  • An antioxidant ingredient
  • Part of the original soap formula

Coconut Oil

The cleansing side of the bar. It lifts the oily buildup the odor clings to.

  • Lifts and washes away oily odor buildup
  • Builds the lather you massage in
  • Carries the residue away in the rinse

Gentle Soap Base

Glycerin and shea butter round out the base for a comfortable daily wash

  • Glycerin and shea butter

Real conversations about sweating odor

I actually thought our bedroom smelled like onions. It took me a minute to realize it was me. I shower every day, so that was a horrible little surprise. Changing what I washed with made more sense than buying yet another deodorant

And weirdly my left armpit was smellier than my right!! That was the part I couldn't get over. I wanted to feel clean without constantly wondering whether someone sitting next to me noticed. This is a simple change I can keep doing in my usual shower

I tried the women's deodorants, the clinical ones and then the men's. Glycolic acid did help me, but I wanted to look at the wash too. I still use my usual antiperspirant. I just don't feel like I need a stronger fragrance to cover everything

The hygiene comments get to me because I was already showering daily and putting on clean clothes. My BO had changed during peri. Having a wash aimed at odor care feels more useful than being told to scrub harder

I went through so many products before I looked at what I washed with. The thing I wanted was pretty simple: to sit with people and pay attention to the conversation instead of my own armpits. Smelling clean is enough for me

Frequently Asked Questions

Why did my usual BO turn onion-like during perimenopause?

Hormonal changes can affect sweating and body odor. Skin bacteria turn substances in sweat into odor compounds, some with a sharp sulfur-like smell. A change is not proof that you stopped taking care of yourself, and a soap cannot diagnose the cause

What if my left armpit is the one that smells?

You can use Sutter on both underarms in your normal wash. A stronger smell on one side does not identify a particular hormone change. Wash gently rather than scrubbing the stronger-smelling side harder

Can I keep using deodorant or antiperspirant?

Yes. Sutter is a rinse-off body wash, not an antiperspirant. Wash, rinse thoroughly and let skin dry before applying the product you normally use

What if glycolic acid already helps me?

Some women report that glycolic acid helps their underarm odor. Sutter offers a different washing step; you do not need to add an acid to use it. Follow each product's directions and avoid layering products that irritate your skin

Will it remove odor already trapped in my shirts?

This soap is for your skin, not a fabric treatment. The goal is to manage body odor before more of it transfers to clean clothes. Shirts with lingering odor may still need suitable laundry care

Where and how do I use it?

Wet your skin, build a lather and massage over external underarm skin. Leave on for 30 seconds to 1 minute, then rinse thoroughly. Follow the label, avoid eyes and broken or irritated skin, and stop if irritation occurs

Will it smell strong or perfumey?

It has a light green tea scent. The aim is a clean-feeling washing routine rather than a heavy perfume to cover the onion smell

Will the box look exactly like the images?

This uses the same formula as our original Antioxidant Soap. Packaging may still carry that name while the presentation is updated

What if I try it and it does not help?

Try it for 30 days. If you are not happy with the difference, email help@trysutter.com to request a refund. You do not need to send back the used bar

Give your next shower a different washing step

You have 30 days to decide whether Sutter helps with the changed odor you are trying to manage. If you are not happy with the difference, email help@trysutter.com to request your refund. No need to send the used bar back

My clean shirts were still picking up that smell
My BO changed during peri and it got through deodorants I thought were strong enough. I even had shirts I stopped wearing. Changing the soap was the part of the routine I had not really looked at. I still use deodorant, but now I feel cleaner and less worried about my clothes

Yes I was already showering every day lol
Clean clothes, clean house, daily shower. That was already my routine. The onion smell made me feel like all that effort was not showing. This is easy to use in the same shower and I do not feel like I need to keep buying a stronger scent

The left armpit thing was so weird
My left pit was worse than the right and I kept wondering what other people could smell. I wanted something practical instead of being told to wash more. The lather feels comfortable and this fits into the routine I already have

Clinical strength was not the missing step for me
I had tried regular deodorant, clinical strength and a men's one. The smell had changed but I kept upgrading the same product. Looking at the wash finally gave me a different step to try. I still use my usual antiperspirant afterward

I thought the room smelled like onions and it was me
That realization was rough. I had showered and was wearing clean clothes, but my husband could tell my smell was different. Changing the wash helped me feel less self conscious about sitting close to people. I just wanted to smell clean

My wife wanted a wash that felt comfortable
She was already doing the daily shower and deodorant routine, and the changed smell was really bothering her. Some strong washes felt like too much for her skin. She likes this lather and can keep using it without turning the shower into a whole project
  • Alexa K. APR 2026
I kept thinking it must be the laundry
I was looking at the shirts and the room before I really looked at my own changed BO. Fresh clothes did not answer why I smelled different. This was an easier change to keep doing than going through another round of deodorant brands
  • Lauren P. MAY 2026
I did not want to smell like strong perfume
The thing I wanted was to stop wondering whether people noticed the onion smell. I do not enjoy a heavy scent sitting on me all day. This is light in the shower and I feel clean afterward, which was the goal
  • Eric D. APR 2026
A different step was worth considering for my wife
She had spent enough on products that sounded stronger and still did not settle the problem. We looked at the wash instead of adding another deodorant to the shelf. She likes that it works alongside the product she already uses

Glycolic helped me but I wanted to look at the wash too
I had seen the glycolic acid recommendations and it did help. I also wanted an ordinary washing step I could stick with. This is simple to use, and feeling clean without constantly thinking about my pits is the part I appreciate most
